Scott Toncray works in integrated marketing communications for a global mission and humanitarian organization based in Orlando, Fla. He is a creative, big picture thinker able to analyze marketing communications problems and develop solutions that bring solid, measurable results using traditional and emerging social media platforms.
Toncray is an experienced communicator with national media relations and crisis management experience. Since 2007, he has been working to bring new technology and news gathering techniques to the forefront of how our organization communicates its message to the public. In his position, he has had opportunities to cover stories in Papua New Guinea, Uganda, Tanzania, Panama and Guatemala as well as rural communities in the southern United States.
Scott participated in the January 2012 MediaStorm Methodology Workshop. He had the following to say about his experience:
Brian and his team took the needed time and had patience with a variety of backgrounds, expertise and personalities and yet we were able to feel as one connected class participating in an intensive learning workshop on his methodology for running MediaStorm. I can say that we were all stretched in the way we think about topics such as advocacy journalism and how multimedia can use the medium to promote change - global change - change that this world needs. And MediaStorm is cranking this change out - one story at a time.
