“Swan Song” Receives 3rd Prize in 2014 World Press Photo Multimedia Contest

MediaStorm is proud to announce that Swan Song has been awarded 3rd Prize in the Online Feature category of the 2014 World Press Photo Multimedia Contest. Swan Song follows the story of Marilyn, diagnosed with dementia at age 58, and her daughters as they refocus their lives to care for her during her most precious years. They try to juggle it all until they are forced to make a heartbreaking decision. The film grew out of a project commissioned by the Neighborhood Centers Inc. to profile the organization’s work in the city of Houston. While documenting the stories of the people the organization works with everyday we discovered “The Greer Girls.” Swan Song takes a deeper look into this amazing family of women dealing with dementia, using their personal narrative to illustrate the struggles of families dealing with this difficult disease. MediaStorm Welcomes Summer Intern Randall Rodriguez

MediaStorm is excited to welcome Randall Rodriguez to our team as a Summer 2014 motion graphics intern. Randall is a motion graphics artist with a ravenous appetite for art, information and storytelling. This appetite bred a desire to not only consume, but create the meaningful content that became a fixture in his own life. Randall was born and raised in Orlando, FL. Drawn to street art and graffiti from a young age, he found his true home when he took his talent to the computer. Randall has worked developing motion graphics for nationally touring musicians RPM. He has also worked in television, being part of a creative team which successfully pitched multiple shows to major networks. Randall earned his Bachelor's in Digital Art and Design from Full Sail University.

MediaStorm Welcomes Summer Interns David Kofahl and Ligaiya Romero

MediaStorm is excited to welcome David Kofahl to our team as our summer 2014 development intern. David Kofahl is a designer and programmer, who explores the intersection of technology and storytelling. For the past two years he has collaborated on America Recycled, an interactive documentary that traces unique and radical communities across the Southern United States. He is currently developing the web application for the film. In 2009 he founded Studio Syndicate, a web firm focused on building digital interfaces for non-profit organizations. His work often extends beyond developing websites and includes designing print materials, writing grants, and consulting. He earned a bachelors degree in Political Science at the University of Florida.     We're also excited to welcome Ligaiya Romero as a production intern. G. Ligaiya Romero is a visual journalist, working primarily with web-first documentary storytelling. Originally from New York, she graduated from UCLA with dual degrees in Film Production…
