The W. Eugene Smith Grant in Humanistic Photography is presented annually to a photographer whose past work and proposed project, as judged by a panel of experts, follows the tradition of W. Eugene Smith’s concerned photography and dedicated compassion evidenced during his 45-year career as a photographic essayist.

This $40,000 grant is designed to help a photographer begin a photographic project or help complete an ongoing photographic project.

Our friends at Vignette Creative are looking for a motivated editor and production team member who wants to dive in and make a difference at a boutique agency/documentary production company.

The job is a full-time position and is based on Bainbridge Island, Washington (a 30-minute ferry ride from downtown Seattle) but may involve flexible work locations and periods of intensive travel.

The MediaStorm One Day Master Class provides an overview of documentary video and multimedia storytelling approaches. Brian will walk you through specific examples of our work, share his business experience, and teach you proven tips to improve your interviewing, shooting and editing techniques.
