MediaStorm Presents the 2015 ICP Infinity Awardee Films

MediaStorm is pleased to present a film series produced in collaboration with the International Center of Photography with support from Harbers Studios. Since 1985 ICP’s Infinity Awards have brought attention to outstanding achievements in photography by honoring individuals with distinguished careers in the field and identifying future luminaries. The 2015 Infinity Awards films serve as a portrait of some of the important contributors to photography today. Photojournalism: Tomas van Houtryve Tomas van Houtryve wants there to be a permanent visual record of the dawn of the drone age, the period in American history when America started outsourcing their military to flying robots. In order to create this record, Van Houtryve sent his own drone into American skies. Young Photographer: Evgenia Arbugaeva Evgenia Arbugaeva was born in the magical town of Tiksi, Russia. MediaStorm Guide to Sharing Sequences Between Computers in Premiere Pro CC

This article is part of a series of posts with tips and tricks from our producers' experience working with Adobe Premiere Pro CC after years of working in Final Cut Pro. To read more about why we made the switch, check out this post. Sharing sequences between team members is easy with the latest version of Premiere Pro CC. As often happens during our workshops, a participant will cut a sequence using her laptop. We’ll then need to import that work into the main project on a second computer. Here’s how we do it: In the Media Browser window (Shift–8), navigate to the project file that contains the sequence you’d like to import. Double-click the file and you’ll see all of the sequences and media available in that project. To import, simply drag the relevant sequence from the Media Browser to the Project window. UNC Chapel Hill Students Launch Interactive Project “After the Shooting”

On February 10th, 2015 the violent murders of three Muslim students in the small university town of Chapel Hill, North Carolina caught the world's attention. Within a day global discourse reached a fever pitch - news crews arrived, vigils were planned across the world and hashtags such as #muslimlivesmatter and #ourthreewinners were trending on social media. How and why could a seemly liberal town be the backdrop for an anti-Muslim hate crime? After the Shooting is UNC-Chapel Hill School of Journalism and Mass Communication students' attempt to understand the complicated issues surrounding the tragedy that occurred in their backyard. In their words, "As students, journalists and members of this community, we felt a responsibility to respond to this event. We created this project as a tool for communication, connection and understanding. We analyzed mainstream coverage and worked to provide an alternative narrative by curating conversations between members of our own community."
