\"\"<\/a> I essentially lived in the Media Lab at the University of Missouri School of Journalism in 1994.<\/i><\/p>\n

I’ll be honest \u2014 when I got the call, I didn’t quite know what to say. Being named to the Missouri Photojournalism Hall of Fame is one of those honors that feels almost too big to hold onto, and I am deeply honored to be included among this year’s class of inductees.<\/p>\n

On November 12, 2026 I’ll join five other honorees at the State Historical Society of Missouri’s headquarters in downtown Columbia to be formally inducted \u2014 the 22nd group to receive this recognition since the Hall of Fame was founded in 2005. Being in that room, surrounded by people whose work has shaped how we see the world, is humbling. It also has me thinking back on where all of this actually started, which for me means one place: Mizzou.<\/p>\n

Grateful, Always<\/strong>
\nI want to be clear about something: none of this happens alone. Every project, every award, every “first” I’ve been part of exists because of collaborators, mentors, and storytellers who trusted me with their work and their vision \u2014 starting with the teachers and classmates who shaped me at Mizzou. Sincerely, this honor belongs to them as much as it belongs to me.<\/p>\n

To be recognized alongside this year’s other inductees \u2014 including the late Sol Studna, whose decades at The Kansas City Star helped define an era of Missouri photojournalism, and colleagues like Laurie Skrivan, Edward McCain, Robert Cohen, and Jackie Bell, each of whom has shaped this field in their own profound way \u2014 is genuinely humbling. These are people I’ve long admired, and now I get to call them fellow inductees.<\/p>\n

\nThe induction ceremony takes place at 4 p.m. on November 12 in the Sam B. Cook Hall at the Center for Missouri Studies, with photographs from all six honorees on display and joining the Hall of Fame’s permanent collection.
