Photojournalism and documentary photography are more important than ever, in a time where individuals can control media and publications, and information is wealth. Eugene Smith Grant\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Students can now apply for the<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/smithfund.us2.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=27dca20b74754835b5280e8f6&amp;id=c0e9eaa86a&amp;e=bf73c009e1\"><span class=\"s3\"><b>new W. Eugene Smith Student Grant<\/b><\/span><\/a>, a <\/span><span class=\"s2\"><b>$4,000 grant<\/b><\/span><span class=\"s1\"> to support collegiate-level photography students in finishing a longer-term project that has the power to sway social dialogue and uses modern technology and image sharing platforms to affect change. To encourage entries from all around the world, submission fees for the student grant are only $1.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The W. Eugene Smith Grant Recipient will receive <\/span><span class=\"s2\"><b>$35,000 in funding<\/b><\/span><span class=\"s1\"> to complete a long-term documentary project and one finalist will receive <\/span><span class=\"s2\"><b>$5,000<\/b><\/span><span class=\"s1\">towards their project.
