To read more about why we made the switch, check out <a href=\"http:\/\/mediastorm.com\/blog\/2012\/10\/19\/why-im-switching-to-abobe-premiere-not-final-cut-x\/\" target=\"_blank\">this post<\/a>.<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Knowing exactly what images and videos are used in the production of a film is a critical part of the MediaStorm <a href=\"http:\/\/mediastorm.com\/train\/product\/post-production-workflow\">workflow<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>We need this information in order to know which low-res footage needs to be purchased then swapped out with licensed hi-res footage, as well as which images must be toned then replaced in the timeline. <\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, there is no easy way to do this in either Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro 7. <\/p>\n<p>So MediaStorm built the <strong>Asset Parser<\/strong>.   <\/p>\n<p>Using the parser is easy. <\/p>\n<p>First, you\u2019ll need to export an XML file from your editing software. <\/p>\n<p>In <strong>Premiere Pro<\/strong>, make sure your final sequence is selected in the <strong>Project window<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Then, choose <strong>File < Export < Final Cut Pro XML\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Similarly, in <strong>Final Cut Pro 7<\/strong>, select your desired sequence then from the <strong>File<\/strong> menu select <strong>Export > XML&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Next, point your browser to: <a href=\"https:\/\/player.mediastorm.com\/tools\/asset-parser\">https:\/\/player.mediastorm.com\/tools\/asset-parser<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Drag<\/strong> your <strong>XML file<\/strong> over the <strong>dotted rectangle<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/screenJPG2.png\" alt=\"screenJPG2\" width=\"497\" height=\"379\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-20245\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mediastorm.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/screenJPG2.png 497w, https:\/\/www.mediastorm.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/screenJPG2-300x228.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 497px) 100vw, 497px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll soon see a list of the different assets used in your project: all of the images, video and audio. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This article is part of a series of posts with tips and tricks from our producers&#8217; experience working with Adobe Premiere Pro CC after years of working in Final Cut Pro.
