Our final frame size is 2048&#215;858, also known as <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Anamorphic_format\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2.40<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This more cinematic look is longer in width but shorter in height than the standard HD size of 1920&#215;1080.<\/p>\n<p>Though our final output is 2048&#215;858, the captured frame size is actually a bit larger at 2048&#215;1080. This allows for more wiggle room when deciding what stays in the shot. There\u2019s more latitude as you can now position the frame up or downwards without having to up-res its size.<\/p>\n<h2>The MediaStorm 2.4 Editing Workflow<\/h2>\n<p>To begin, you\u2019ll need to <a href=\"https:\/\/mediastorm.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/2K-crop-bars.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">download<\/a> the 2.4 crop-bars mask.<\/p>\n<p>It is sized for 2048&#215;1080, your capture size, but masks out the top and bottom so that only the final output frame size of 2048&#215;858 is viewable.<\/p>\n<p>This file should be placed on your top video track. Then lock it in place by clicking the lock icon.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-19194\" src=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/blog1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"358\" height=\"85\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mediastorm.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/blog1.png 358w, https:\/\/www.mediastorm.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/blog1-300x71.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 358px) 100vw, 358px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now you can reposition your video frame without inadvertently moving the mask.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>To do so, simply place the timeline playhead over the clip you\u2019d like to crop, then double-click it in the <strong>Program<\/strong> window.
