To read more about why we made the switch, check out <a href=\"http:\/\/mediastorm.com\/blog\/2012\/10\/19\/why-im-switching-to-abobe-premiere-not-final-cut-x\/\" target=\"_blank\">this post<\/a>.<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.adobe.com\/products\/premiere.html\" target=\"_blank\">Premiere Pro 2014<\/a> offers a great new feature for correcting the lens distortion of <a href=\"http:\/\/gopro.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">GoPro<\/a> cameras.<\/p>\n<p>Last winter, I strapped a GoPro onto my dog, Emmy, and went for a walk. You can clearly see the fisheye distortion in the screenshot below. In particular, notice the curvature of the building on the left.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-18438\" alt=\"\" src=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/blog1-e1410984550932.png\" width=\"512\" height=\"288\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In Premiere Pro\u2019s <strong>Effects<\/strong> pane, twirl down\u00a0<strong>Presets &gt; Lens Distortion Removal &gt; GoPro<\/strong> and find your camera model as well as the setting used when your footage was shot.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>In my case, I used the <a href=\"http:\/\/shop.gopro.com\/cameras\/hero3plus-black-edition\/CHDHX-302-master.html\" target=\"_blank\">Hero3+<\/a> model at 1080 pixels, using the wide perspective.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-18437\" alt=\"\" src=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/blog2-e1410984645671.png\" width=\"400\" height=\"360\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Next, with your footage on a timeline, simply drag the corresponding effect onto the clip.<\/p>\n<p>Lens Distortion Removal will compensate for the curvature of your image.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-18436\" alt=\"\" src=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/blog3-e1410984685407.png\" width=\"512\" height=\"286\" \/><\/p>\n<p>To finesse further, see the advanced setting in the <strong>Effect Controls<\/strong> window.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-18435\" alt=\"\" src=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/blog4-e1410984717236.png\" width=\"512\" height=\"280\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This article is part of a series of posts with tips and tricks from our producers&#8217; experience working with Adobe Premiere Pro CC after years of working in Final Cut Pro.
