To read more about why we made the switch, check out <a href=\"http:\/\/mediastorm.com\/blog\/2012\/10\/19\/why-im-switching-to-abobe-premiere-not-final-cut-x\/\" target=\"_blank\">this post<\/a>.<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>A quick way to change your audio levels in Premiere Pro is to select a clip in the timeline and use the closed bracket ( <strong>]<\/strong> ) to raise the volume or the open bracket (<strong> [<\/strong> ) to lower it.<\/p>\n<p>You can easily alter a group of clips this way by simply lassoing them first.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, this method does not work in Premiere Pro CC if any of the audio contained key frames. This was a real limitation.<\/p>\n<p>Thankfully, with the introduction of Premiere Pro 2014, you can now nudge key-framed audio with a user-defined shortcut key.<\/p>\n<p>From the <strong>Premiere Pro<\/strong> menu select <strong>Keyboard Shortcuts\u2026<\/strong> (<strong>Option-Command-K<\/strong>)<\/p>\n<p>Search for <strong>nudge<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-18230\" alt=\"\" src=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/MediaStormGuidetoNudgingAudioinPremierePro2014-e1407873391826.jpg\" width=\"512\" height=\"595\" \/><\/p>\n<p>At MediaStorm we use <strong>Control-Command-]<\/strong> (closed bracket) to nudge the volume +1db and <strong>Control-Command-[<\/strong> (open bracket) to nudge the volume \u20131db.<\/p>\n<p>Now when you use the nudge shortcuts, your key-framed audio will increase or decrease 1db relative to its starting volume.<\/p>\n<p>Very handy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This article is part of a series of posts with tips and tricks from our producers&#8217; experience working with Adobe Premiere Pro CC after years of working in Final Cut Pro.
