A sophisticated, conceptual vision, and a passion for photography and video is a must, as is a deep interest in the core WIRED subjects \u2013 technology, business, science, culture and design.\u00a0This job will be based in the WIRED offices in San Francisco and reports to the Director of Photography.<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>Responsibilities<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Assign and produce photo and video shoots across all platforms of WIRED.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with editors and designers, illustrating stories in an inventive and artful manner.<\/li>\n<li>Negotiate with photographers and work with budgets on complex, high-production photo and video shoots.<\/li>\n<li>Conceptualize and pitch stories and videos that reflect WIRED\u2019s core values and aesthetic across all platforms.<\/li>\n<li>Contribute ideas and curate photo and video content for WIRED\u2019s social media platforms, including Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.<\/li>\n<li>Pitch and curate photo essays for\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/wired.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">WIRED.com<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Oversee the homepage of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/wired.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">WIRED.com<\/a>\u00a0to ensure a cohesive, sophisticated aesthetic.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Qualifications<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>5+ years of experience as a photo editor for magazine, newspaper, or website<\/li>\n<li>Possess a strong eye for talent and vast knowledge of photographers, videographers, photo representatives and agencies<\/li>\n<li>Highly organized and detail oriented with excellent editorial judgment<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with photo contracts, usage rights, photo licensing and copyright<\/li>\n<li>Strong communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge and proficiency in social media<\/li>\n<li>Keen curatorial eye and thorough knowledge of photography blogs<\/li>\n<li>Must be highly self-sufficient and resourceful with strong communication skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Apply<\/h2>\n<p>For more information and application visit Cond\u00e9 Nast\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/condenast.avature.net\/careers\/JobDetail\/San-Francisco-Senior-Photo-Editor\/3528\" target=\"_blank\">online<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>WIRED is seeking a Senior Photo Editor to assign, produce, research, and curate powerful, evocative photography across all platforms \u2013 print, online,\u00a0tablet,\u00a0video, and social media.
