I asked how could I make the vocal audio sound better.<\/p>\n<p>He said, all things being equal, the trick was to add <strong>3 or 4 dB<\/strong> at about <strong>3500 kHz<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ll walk you through how to do that in Premiere Pro.<\/p>\n<p>First, from the <strong>Effects<\/strong> window, search for <strong>EQ<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B00CS75YKE\/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;amp;camp=1789&amp;amp;creative=9325&amp;amp;creativeASIN=B00CS75YKE&amp;amp;linkCode=as2&amp;amp;tag=mediastorm01-20\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-17674\" alt=\"\" src=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/blog.jpg\" width=\"512\" height=\"155\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mediastorm.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/blog.jpg 512w, https:\/\/www.mediastorm.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/blog-300x90.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 512px) 100vw, 512px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Drag the effect on to the audio clip you\u2019d like to change. Then, <strong>double click<\/strong> the audio selection so that it opens in the <strong>Source<\/strong> window.<\/p>\n<p>In the <strong>Effects Control<\/strong> window you\u2019ll see all of the <strong>EQ<\/strong> options.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B00CS75YKE\/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;amp;camp=1789&amp;amp;creative=9325&amp;amp;creativeASIN=B00CS75YKE&amp;amp;linkCode=as2&amp;amp;tag=mediastorm01-20\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-17678\" alt=\"\" src=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/blog2.jpg\" width=\"512\" height=\"664\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mediastorm.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/blog2.jpg 512w, https:\/\/www.mediastorm.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/blog2-231x300.jpg 231w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 512px) 100vw, 512px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>While you can control individual parameters with sliders, I find it easier to click the <strong>Edit<\/strong>\u2026 button adjacent to <strong>Custom Setup<\/strong>. This opens a graphic equalizer window.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B00CS75YKE\/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;amp;camp=1789&amp;amp;creative=9325&amp;amp;creativeASIN=B00CS75YKE&amp;amp;linkCode=as2&amp;amp;tag=mediastorm01-20\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-17679\" alt=\"\" src=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/blog3.jpg\" width=\"374\" height=\"531\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mediastorm.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/blog3.jpg 374w, https:\/\/www.mediastorm.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/blog3-211x300.jpg 211w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 374px) 100vw, 374px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">In this example I\u2019ve raised, I\u2019ve <strong>checked<\/strong> the <strong>Mid3<\/strong> parameter and entered<strong> 3500k Hz<\/strong>, the frequency I want to affect, and raised its volume <strong>4 dB<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">I\u2019ve also increased the <strong>Q<\/strong>, or the bell curve surrounding <strong>3500 kHz<\/strong>, by <strong>1 oct<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The result is subtle but to my ears it gives the audio a bit more presence.
