They try to juggle it all until they are forced to make a heartbreaking decision.<\/p>\n<p>The film grew out of a project commissioned by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.neighborhood-centers.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Neighborhood Centers Inc.<\/a> to profile the organization\u2019s work in the city of Houston. While documenting the stories of the people the organization works with everyday we discovered \u201cThe Greer Girls.\u201d <em>Swan Song<\/em> takes a deeper look into this amazing family of women dealing with dementia, using their personal narrative to illustrate the struggles of families dealing with this difficult disease.<\/p>\n<p>First place in the Online Feature category was awarded to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.worldpressphoto.org\/multimedia-gallery\/2014\/witnessing-gezi?gallery=1166641#fullcontext\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Witnessing Gezi<\/em><\/a> by photojournalist Emin \u00d6zmen and second place went to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.worldpressphoto.org\/multimedia-gallery\/2014\/hers-to-lose?gallery=1166641\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Hers to Lose<\/em><\/a> by Brent McDonald and Stephen Maing.\u00a0A complete list of winners with links to the winning entries can be found on the World Press Photo\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.worldpressphoto.org\/multimedia-gallery\/2014-multimedia-contest\" target=\"_blank\">website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>World Press Photo organizes the leading international contest in visual journalism.
