My buddy<a href=\"http:\/\/mediastorm.com\/contributor\/tim-mclaughlin\/88\" target=\"_blank\"> Tim McLaughlin<\/a> reintroduced me to its power last week.<\/p>\n<p>The slip tool allows you to change the in and out point of a single clip without affecting it\u2019s duration or the duration of adjoining clips. Your project length stays the same.<\/p>\n<p>Activate the slip tool with either the shortcut key <strong>Y<\/strong> or by clicking on its icon in the toolbar.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B00CS75YKE\/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;creativeASIN=B00CS75YKE&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=mediastorm01-20\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-17028\" alt=\"\" src=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/blog1.png\" width=\"114\" height=\"265\" \/><\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: none !important; margin: 0px !important;\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com\/e\/ir?t=mediastorm01-20&amp;l=as2&amp;o=1&amp;a=B00CS75YKE\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" border=\"0\" \/><br \/>\nNext, hover over a video clip and you\u2019ll see that your cursor change to the slip icon.<\/p>\n<p>Hold down your mouse and drag forward or backwards <em>inside<\/em> the clip, don&#8217;t move the clip itself.
