This year, for the first time in its history, PhotoPhilanthropy will offer a mobile photography award in addition to its traditional student, amateur, and professional category awards for most compelling documentary photography essays completed on behalf of nonprofits.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/photophilanthropy.org\/award\/submissions\/\" target=\"_blank\">Submit<\/a> your photo essay by <strong>November 15th, 2013<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>Submission Details<\/h2>\n<p>The contest is open to all professional, amateur and student photographers regardless of age, gender, or nationality. Entrants under 18 years of age require the permission of a parent or guardian.<\/p>\n<p>Photo essays must be entered into one of three categories. Two finalists in each category will also be announced.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Professional Photographer \u2013 $15,000 Grand Prize: Any individual who earns the majority of their living from photography or has been professionally trained.<\/li>\n<li>Amateur Photographer \u2013 $2,000 Grand Prize: Any individual who does not earn the majority of their income from photography.<\/li>\n<li>Student Photographer \u2013 $2,000 Grand Prize: Any current student with less than two years of professional work including internships.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Full submission guidelines are available <a href=\"http:\/\/photophilanthropy.org\/award\/guidelines\/\/\" target=\"_blank\">online<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>About PhotoPhilanthropy<\/h2>\n<p>Our mission is to promote and connect photographers with nonprofit organizations around the world to tell the stories that drive action for social change.
