MediaStorm is a multimedia production studio based in New York City and collaborating virtually with creative resources around the globe. MediaStorm’s principal aim is to usher in a new era of multimedia storytelling, via our publication<\/a> and our industry-leading production and consulting services<\/a>. We are actively seeking candidates for positions as interactive designer<\/a> and developer<\/a>.

<\/p>\n

INTERACTIVE DESIGNER<\/u><\/strong>
\nInteractive designers shape the look and feel of mediastorm.org as well as projects for MediaStorm’s clients. <\/p>\n

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing cutting-edge user interfaces and developing interactive design specs. Experience designing across multiple media (broadcast, print, online) is a strong plus.<\/p>\n

Description<\/b>
\nThe Interactive Designer will:<\/p>\n

  • Create world-class multimedia pieces and innovative production tool interfaces\n
  • Design websites, broadcast and print marketing products\n
  • Conceptualize and document requirements for user interfaces\n
  • Work with Multimeda Producers and Project Managers to establish production timelines\n
  • Participate in client meetings and design to their needs\n
  • Work with developers to implement designs and interfaces\n

    Qualifications<\/b>
    \nThe applicant should have:<\/p>\n

  • A passion for design and a strong visual style\n
  • Ability to collaborate with a diverse team\n
  • Ability to self-manage and meet aggressive deadlines\n
  • Ability to work virtually and to travel as necessary\n
  • A strong appreciation for photography and multimedia storytelling\n
  • At least two years of professional digital design experience, focus on interactive media a plus\n
  • Ability to use typography, layout, color, images, motion and interactivity to create strong designs\n
  • Knowledge and skill with digital design applications such as Photoshop, Illustrator, In Design, After Effects, etc.\n
  • Ability to work in Macromedia Flash and HTML a strong plus

    \nDEVELOPER<\/u><\/strong>
    \nMediaStorm is looking for a passionate and self-motivated Developer to implement Flash, Web 2.0 and database projects for mediastorm.org as well as projects for MediaStorm’s clients.<\/p>\n

    The ideal candidate will have proven technical expertise coding in Actionscript and creating dynamic, database-driven web sites. Experience working in PHP, Javascript, Ajax and SQL is a strong plus.<\/p>\n

    Description<\/b>
    \nMediaStorm Developers will:<\/p>\n

  • Build world-class multimedia websites using Actionscript and other appropriate languages\n
  • Code back-end website solutions in PHP\n
  • Write javascript to deliver dynamic, client-side web content\n
  • Develop innovative production and workflow tools\n
  • Work with Multimedia Producers, Interactive Designers and Project Managers to establish production timelines\n
  • Conceive of innovative storytelling approaches to further MediaStorm’s storytelling mission\n
  • Participate in client meetings and develop to their needs\n
  • Work with designers to implement designs and user interfaces\n
  • Be responsible for testing code across browsers and platforms\n
  • Build database applications for in-house data storage needs as well as for web site data delivery\n
  • Maintain a development environment\n
  • Manage deployment of code updates to live websites\n

    \nThe successful applicant should have:<\/p>\n

  • An appreciation of well designed and implemented user interfaces\n
  • Ability to collaborate with a diverse team\n
  • Ability to self-manage and meet aggressive deadlines\n
  • Ability to work virtually and to travel as necessary\n
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously\n
  • At least two years of professional development experience, focus on interactive media a plus\n
  • Knowledge and skill in Actionscript, PHP, Javascript, Ajax and SQL
