The solution is straightforward.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Quit<\/strong> Premiere Pro.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Download<\/strong> the ProApps Quicktime Codecs from the <a href=\"http:\/\/support.apple.com\/kb\/DL1396?viewlocale=en_US&amp;locale=en_US\">Apple<\/a> site.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll receive an error if you try to install the codec package without FCP on your system. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/Install-ProApps-QuickTime-codecs.jpg\" alt=\"Install ProApps QuickTime codecs\" width=\"734\" height=\"554\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-14263\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mediastorm.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/Install-ProApps-QuickTime-codecs.jpg 734w, https:\/\/www.mediastorm.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/Install-ProApps-QuickTime-codecs-300x226.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 734px) 100vw, 734px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The workaround is to first install the free application <a href=\"http:\/\/www.timdoug.com\/unpkg\/\">unpkg<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Drag<\/strong> the <strong>ProAppsQTCodecs.pkg<\/strong> file on to the <strong>unpkg icon<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/unpkg.jpg\" alt=\"unpkg\" width=\"552\" height=\"444\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-14266\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mediastorm.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/unpkg.jpg 552w, https:\/\/www.mediastorm.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/unpkg-300x241.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 552px) 100vw, 552px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Unpkg wil extract the components to your desktop.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/Finder.jpg\" alt=\"Finder\" width=\"348\" height=\"213\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-14268\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mediastorm.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/Finder.jpg 348w, https:\/\/www.mediastorm.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/Finder-300x183.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 348px) 100vw, 348px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In the <strong>Finder<\/strong> select <strong>Go &gt; Go to Folder&#8230;<\/strong> (Command-Shift-G). Enter <strong>\/Library\/QuickTime<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Drag the component files in to this folder.
