On Tuesday, April 1st, 2014 the W. Euguene Smith Memorial Fund will host At the Top of the World: Photography Today with Kira Pollack in Conversation with Jonathan D. Woods at Aperture Gallery and Bookstore at 6:30 p.m.

A $5 donation is requested for entry. This event is free for students with I.D. and Members of Aperture at the $50 level and above.

Internship Opportunity: TIME.COM seeking spring photo interns

TIME.COM is seeking spring-term interns for its Photography Department. Internships are paid and not for credit. Ideal candidates can start as soon as possible and are able to commit to 3-5 days, 20-30 hours per week over the course of 4–6 months. Primary Duties: Interns will assist the Photo Department in researching and sourcing archival and current content, building photo galleries, scanning, retouching and performing other tasks not yet specified. TIME provides unique opportunities for it’s interns to become deeply involved with ongoing projects and upcoming content. Applicants should be employment ready, self-motivated, detail oriented, and able to remain focused on long-term assignments. The October 2008 Issue of The Digital Journalist is now online. Along with the usual columns, there are two features this month: "As we head into the final days of the American presidential election, we present two galleries by probably the best photographers who have been covering this race. Both have spent the better part of the last two years with their candidates, and offer us remarkable access to those behind-the-scenes moments. Stephen Crowley of The New York Times has been covering the John McCain campaign, while Callie Shell has been covering the Obama campaign for Time magazine. They give us remarkable "inside" images of these campaigns."
