MediaStorm Accepting Fall Internship Applications Through July 15th

We’re currently accepting applications for our Fall 2014 internship. If you’re motivated, highly organized, and passionate about multimedia, we’d love to hear from you. The internship generally runs from September to December, but start dates are flexible. We’re looking for applicants with experience in multimedia production, design, motion graphics, and/or web development. Internships are paid. New Features in Premiere Pro CC (2014)

To read more about why we made the switch, check out this post. In June, Adobe released major updates across their Creative Cloud suite of applications, including Premiere Pro CC. In the coming weeks, I will show you some of these great new features. First though, here are some highlights that are most exciting: Browse After Effects projects in the Media Browser. Audio pitch remains the same when you shuttle forwards and back. The ability to select all tracks backwards. Select multiple transitions and change their durations simultaneously. The One Thing

Editing is about making decisions, thousands and thousands of them. Everything from whether to use a one-frame audio dissolve that will ultimately go unnoticed to how to arrange the scenes of your story in order to create the most powerful dramatic arc—the kind of choice that will ultimately determine the success of your work. Decisions lead to other options which lead to other decisions and on and on, seemingly forever. It’s easy to get lost in trying to predict how a single choice will affect the rest of your work when you arrive downstream. It can feel overwhelming. And Lord knows, I’ve done my share of fretting. When I think about the work to be done on my current project, part of me wants to crawl under a bed with a bag of candy and a stack of comic books. From 7-9pm young women, ages 15 to 22, prepare for a night of work at the Violin Karaoke bar in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Their job is to sell drinks to customers who book the karaoke rooms; in the neighboring dance club, also part of the Violin, there are cocktail waitresses. However, many are also freelance sex workers or ‘bar girls’ who make their own arrangements with the customers for a ‘date.’ Most of the customers are asian; they are either Thai, Korean, Chinese, or Japanese. Deadline Approaching: Alexia Foundation 2014 Women’s Initiative Grant

The deadline to apply for the 2014 Women’s Initiative Grant is Monday, June 30th, 2014 at 2 p.m. EST. The grant will provide a $25,000 grant for a project to be produced on a significant issue involving and affecting women.
