Crisis Guide: Iran produced by MediaStorm and the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) received the 2011 Overseas Press Club (OPC) award for Web: Online General Excellence. The OPC awards have been recognizing online journalism since the 1940s and this year they added six new categories for online coverage to acknowledge the changing media landscape. Crisis Guide: Iran was honored for its superb use of multimedia in a timely and in-depth study of Iran’s politics, economy and nuclear program. The seven-chapter publication was recognized for using interactive graphics, archival slideshows, graphs, timelines and video interviews to showcase the history and government of the country in a visually pleasing and accessible way. A Darkness Visible: Afghanistan Receives Media for Liberty Award

Liberty Media Corporation honored A Darkness Visible: Afghanistan by VII Photographer Seamus Murphy and MediaStorm last week as the winner of its 2012 Media for Liberty Award. The 2012 Media for Liberty Award acknowledges and encourages media contributions that explore the relationship between economic and political liberty. The winning entry is selected by a panel of judges and receives an award of $50,000. A Darkness Visible: Afghanistan is based on 14 trips to Afghanistan between 1994 and 2010 by internationally-recognized photojournalist Seamus Murphy. MediaStorm Nominated for 2012 Webby Awards

We are thrilled to announce two MediaStorm projects have been honored by the 2012 Webby Awards. A Thousand More is a nominee for this year's Webby Awards in the Documentary: Individual Episode category. A Thousand More is also in the running for the Webby People's Voice Awards. The People's Voice Awards polls are open from April 10th to April 26th and anyone can vote. A Thousand More is the story of one family’s determination to give their son a whole and vital life. Three MediaStorm Projects nominated for News and Documentary Emmy Awards

Three MediaStorm projects are among the Nominees announced today for the 32nd Annual News and Documentary Emmy Awards. Undesired, By Walter Astrada for the Alexia Foundation, was nominated in the New Approaches to News & Documentary Programming: Documentaries Category. In India, all women must confront the cultural pressure to bear a son. The consequences of this preference is a disregard for the lives of women and girls. CFR’s ‘Crisis Guide: Pakistan’ named as winner of Overseas Press Club of America’s Best Use of Multimedia Award

Crisis Guide: Pakistan, produced by the Council on Foreign Relations in partnership with MediaStorm, was selected as the winner for the Overseas Press Club of America's Best Use of Multimedia Award.
