Crisis Guide: Pakistan, produced by the Council on Foreign Relations in partnership with MediaStorm, was selected as the winner for the Overseas Press Club of America's Best Use of Multimedia Award. OPC introduced 6 new awards this year for online journalism. Award recipients were announced last night at the 72nd Annual OPC Awards dinner in New York City. Congratulations to all of the winners!

MediaStorm nominated for two Webby Awards

MediaStorm is thrilled to announce that two of our projects have been Nominated for this year's Webby Awards in the Online Film and Video Division. The 15th Annual Webby Awards received nearly 10,000 entries from all 50 US states and over 60 countries worldwide. MediaStorm is looking for a Project Management Intern for this spring/summer. We're looking for someone interested in everything from reviewing projects to creating training documents and preparing submissions for film festivals. This is an administrative position, where you will be working on several independent projects, as well as assisting Multimedia Producers, Designers, and Business Development as needed. Applicant should have: - Knowledge of GoogleDocs, InDesign, basic html. - Solid writing skills - Ability to manage many projects at once - Strong organizational skills This is not a production internship - Final Cut Skills are helpful, but not required. MediaStorm Multimedia Storytelling Workshop to be held at LOOK3, June 8, 2011

MediaStorm has partnered with LOOK3 to offer a one-day Multimedia Storytelling Workshop on June 8, 2011, the day before the Festival of the Photograph launches. This one-day workshop will provide an overview of multimedia storytelling approaches. Through real world examples and open discussions with participants, Brian Storm will share tips and techniques to improve reporting and editing and discuss the most effective tools for specific jobs and the most appropriate ways to create a multimedia story. This workshop is designed for anyone interested in multimedia storytelling, no experience is necessary. We will be looking primarily at multimedia methodology and theory- this is not a workshop to learn how to use your new audio recorder- it’s a workshop where you will be asked to look deeper, into the when and why of different storytelling techniques and approaches. MediaStorm and the Oil Spill Commission launch The Gulf Spill guide

MediaStorm recently worked with the National Commission on the BP Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill and Offshore Drilling to condense their findings into an interactive guide that makes the information accessible for the public. Oilfields are always changing, and equipment needs to be updated as well. One way oil companies do this is through a wireline services provider in order to access the machinery necessary for subsurface information that cannot be seen from the surface alone. A feature video launched last month, and the full site went up this week.
